(This is stil just an idea; not 100% sure if it is the right way to go.)

To help people cross build a code base between 2.10.x and 2.9, we could offer a compatibility JAR in 2.9.x which contains the SIP-18 language imports.

The alternative is for people to use the command line switches in 2.10.x to enable language features globally.

I'm not so sure this a great idea. Let's see what the community asks for / provides. (https://github.com/sbt/sbt-scalashim solve this sort of problem)
