This is especially important for template-returning type macros.

As type macros have been discontinued i wonder if this issue is still relavant. The only way to fix this is to define another interpolator that will work in template context but this will make it even harder for novice users to understand which of q, pq, cq, tq, templateq to use.

Sure it is relevant, because template synthesis is not exclusive to type macros. As for the means of implementation, we could discuss that during one of the reflection meetings.

As we've discussed with Eugene this bug isn't relevant any more and we won't be able to support templates in quasiquotes due to difficulties in extraction and composition (new syntax required to splice/extract templates, new interpolator required etc).
