      Description

Completion results should be listed like `ls -C` by default instead of `ls -x`.

Provide a config property for those whose eyes scan -xily.

Column printing is done by jline, but we already override it, so customizing is a small tax. The flag would affect all columnar output, but maybe that domain includes only completions.

The subsidiary question is whether jline2 fixed the format problems that required overriding it.

I guess you can't convert a suggestion into an improvement?

Thank you for the patch. What is the difference between "suggestion" and "improvement" ?

I don't know, but they have me trained to salivate only on "SI-" issues. In fact, "SI" stands for "salivate immediately," which was the message flashed on the screen while Beethoven's ninth played in the background. It's also possible that suggestions are subliminal, improvements are actionable.
